~It shows us that diversity is natural. It shows us that diversity is beautiful.

SELF PORTRAIT

I have never before thought of doing a self portrait, but today I came up with this idea very randomly. 

I didn't want to use a reference photo so I did it just by looking at myself in a mirror. It didn't take me much time, but honestly it was so much fun - way more than I expected! I might try to do this again soon.

It doesn't look too much like me and I wasn't going for a realistic look so I am satisfied with it. The background and its colour represent my state of mind.

SIRENS

Mermaids are the most interesting mythological creatures to me, they have been since I was a child. For these portraits I found inspiration in mermaids, my muse Lana Del Rey and the music of Ben Howard - the album I Forget Where We Were to be certain.

LANA DEL REY PORTRAIT: PALE MOONLIGHT

Lana Del Rey is covering Another Man magazine this season. Shot by Alasdair McLellan, all the photos look absolutely stunning, I totally love it. My favourite pics include the cover and a close up of Lana smiling, so I decided to do a portrait inspired by the cover.

LANA DEL REY PORTRAIT: WEST COAST

As many of you probably know today Lana Del Rey presented the first single off of Ultraviolence to the world.

The song is called West Coast and it premiered on Fearne Cotton's show on BBC Radio 1 even though she performed it live at Coachella the night before. The song is really beautiful, you can check it out by clicking here. I love everything Del Rey does but hands down this is one my favourite songs ever, from any artist! I am totally looking forward to more music from Ultraviolence because this song got me quite excited. I predict a year full of success for Lana.
In order to celebrate the start of the Ultraviolence era I decided to paint a portrait of Lana Del Rey, inspired by the Ultraviolence billboard in Brooklyn. Hope you guys like it.

LANA DEL REY PORTRAIT: I JUST RIDE

First of all, I want to apologize for posting this late. It is a painting I did few months ago (in 2013) and never got round to posting it for some reason. It is a painting of Lana Del Rey in her short film/music video for the song "Ride".
